Reading is a skill that involves being able to make sense out of text. A child’s name is one of the most important words in his world, so we start the reading process by helping our children to understand that the black squiggles are letters that make up their name.
Our little ones haven’t been introduced to the names of each of these letters yet, but they are able to start matching the shapes of the letters on the egg cups to the letters on the card, and can “read” their names out loud.
